What’s Old Is New Again…

For those that know or follow me, you understand that I have never been afraid to revisit an old file. We learn new techniques and gain new skills which can be used to develop a new interpretation of that old file.

Such is the case with this image. I’ve recently talked about some old negatives of mine that have resurfaced for me. This particular negative was captured with a trusty old Pentax Spotmatic in 1969. With today’s software, and with skills that I’ve developed, I have taken the straightforward old negative and developed a completely new, and painterly, interpretation.

What strikes me about this file is that even back then I seem to have been grooming myself to be a bit of a minimalist. Fun times and great memories. Maybe you have some old digital files or negatives that you could revisit and create a new vision.

Thanks for stopping by. I’d love to have you follow the blog to keep abreast of my ramblings, and join the fun. Till next time, take care and be creative.

  1. I love this photo, the background looks like the vintage type paper with the wrinkles. It looks timeless, surreal yet simple. I love it. Have a wonderful day David.

    1. Thank you Sandra. Working with textures is one of the things I love. You must be careful to select the correct texture for each image though. It’s a fun process. Thanks again for your time and thoughts.
