So here I am in another week and once again falling back on one of my more lighthearted creations. In actuality this post also serves as an example of one of the topics I’ve covered in the past.
I have often been asked, and often written about what is the inspiration for some of my images. Where does the concept come from. Many times it’s a scene I have witnessed and wish to interpret with an image. Other times it may be something that someone has said to me. It may be just an attempt to convey a feeling or a mood. There are many other examples, but I think you get my drift. It’s a matter of keeping your creative mind open and exploring those things that you interact with on a daily basis.
In the case of the image in this post it was an old riddle. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? I fiddled around with different ways to interpret that riddle and came up with this shot. I’ll be the first to admit that after creating the image, the question still goes unanswered. The bottom line is that I had fun and it seems many other folks get a bit of a chuckle from it.
So my thought for you today is to challenge your creativity and pick a statement, riddle or other subject and see how you can interpret it. I can almost guarantee that you’ll have fun. I’ve done “Don’t you wish we could change this weather”, and “She Sells Sea Shells”, and I’ll post about those images down the road. Your image doesn’t have to be humorous. It’s the creative experience that counts. I would be willing to bet you will surprise yourself with a great shot. Stretch yourself and grow.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my ramblings, why not follow so you can keep up with my journey in creative photography. Till next time, take care and why not give it a shot. As always your thoughts are appreciated, so give a reply and let me know what you think.
